Cheap Chase follows the story of a detective and his boyfriend and the detective's partner as they work to track down someone from the past with a deep grudge.I love Cheap Chase. The drawings are rough and at times the scribbling is so chaotic it's hard to see what's going on. That said, this is still enjoyable. I have a fondness for bully semes and Kaito fits that description perfectly. Yoh is an adorable little uke with some attitude and I really like the relationship between he and Kaito. At first I wasn't sure how to take Joey, Kaito's partner, but he grew on me rather quickly.
I won't ever give away any of the plot in a review so I'll just say that there's an equal amount of steamy scenes and action going on throughout this story. I really wish the author would write more on these characters, perhaps a background story as to how a police detective hooked up with a boy who used to sell himself on the street. I'm guessing that's one interesting back story!
I definitely recommend this one. I had been waiting, not so patiently, for it to be released and bought it (and read it) immediately. Despite the chaotic drawings this story definitely played up to what I like. I laughed, I cried, I was disappointed when it was over!

I will have to be the dissenting voice here. Kaito is an abusive bully. The sex scenes all looked like rape. And the uke, Yoh, is drawn to look like he's about 13. I felt like I was reading kiddy porn. This title has been permanently deleted from my device.
I love yaoi, it's my favorite book. Drawing is beautiful i like it. required me 20 words so it's done.
It's very funny and good
I could not put the manga down at all for it was so good. The plot was awesome with great yaoi scenes. If you love yaoi and good plots, this is one of the awesome yaoi manga to read!
it was funny and sad in some parts but overall it was a excellent read. would recommened to read this book.
This one is for Yaoi fans. A cool seme who is the bullying type and a hot lieutenant to boot. A wide eyed pretty uke who can never say no to his seme. And of course lots of smex and hard core sex. But this is a cop thriller too and there is a good plot here as one sadistic criminal who has served his time is out for revenge. However the artwork is kind of chaotic in some of the sex scenes and the exciting moments. Not a distraction and as strange as it may sound the chaos seems to add to the pull of the story. All in all a pretty good read even if I wish one of the characters did not meet with such an end. Once again I really appreciate the good translation here.
I love all of Shima Asahu's stuff. Some people complain about the art being messy but I think they are crazy. I love the uke's long limbs and big eyes and the semes.... oh the semes! *drools*
